Talented Jamaican singer Joby Jay earns first booking at Lost In Time Festival while gearing up for new release on February 6

Talented Jamaican recording artist Joby Jay has been announced as a performer on Protoje’s highly anticipated Lost In Time Festival, set to return to Kingston after a two-year hiatus.
“I love the concept of Lost In Time and I’ve been supporting every staging. Going from being called out at the first staging by Naomi Cowan in her set to now being booked feels validating to my growth and continued efforts. I’m so, so excited,” she shared.
As she gears up for the major stage moment, Joby Jay is also preparing to release her new single “Fighter” on February 6, Bob Marley’s birthday, in a symbolic nod to his enduring message of mental freedom.
The emotionally charged anthem confronts mental slavery, anxiety, and unseen personal battles, transforming vulnerability into strength through raw lyricism and a soaring chorus.
Opening with defiance, Fighter moves through themes of underestimation, mental exhaustion, and feeling trapped within one’s own thoughts before pivoting toward empowerment, resilience, and self-awareness.
Anchored by the refrain “I’m a fighter, survivor, I am not alone,” the song serves as both a personal declaration and a collective reminder of perseverance. Sonically, Fighter blends contemporary reggae-influenced pop with a soulful, anthemic feel, allowing Joby Jay’s honest and emotionally grounded vocals to lead.
