After a penalty shootout loss to Nigeria in the Unity Cup final, the Reggae Boyz are now focused on their upcoming World Cup qualifying double-header against the British Virgin Islands and Guatemala.
Winger Renaldo Cephas, who impressed during the recent UK tournament with two assists in the final, is among those named in Steve McClaren’s squad for the crucial qualifiers.
Cephas, who scored nine goals in all competitions for Turkish side Ankaragücü, is reportedly attracting interest from clubs in Israel and Greece. Reports suggest he could sign with Israeli Premier League champions Maccabi Haifa or Greek giants AEK Athens.
Also earning a call-up is Tyreece Campbell, a rising star at newly promoted English Championship side Charlton Athletic.
Captain Andre Blake returns to the squad after missing the Unity Cup, along with key players Damion Lowe, Romario Williams, Demarai Gray, and Leon Bailey. The latter is reportedly close to securing a life-changing deal with newly promoted Saudi club Neom SC, worth £10 million per year.
Jamaica will face the British Virgin Islands away on Saturday, followed by a home clash against Guatemala at the National Stadium on Tuesday.
