Dream Weekend is kicking off the road to its 2027 edition by supporting Midas Entertainment as it turns the final weekend of summer into a two-day celebration at Plantation Cove in St. Ann, featuring Sophisticated: The Summer End Beach Party and ENCORE LIVE: Culture Rising.

The back-to-back events will take over the venue on August 29 and 30, bringing together dancehall, reggae, fashion, live music and sound system culture as endorsed lead-up experiences to Dream Weekend 2027.

The weekend gets underway on Saturday, August 29 with Sophisticated, a beachside lifestyle party featuring dancehall artiste Vanessa Bling alongside Trippple X, Bishop Escobar and Illusion Sound. On Sunday, August 30, ENCORE LIVE: Culture Rising shifts the focus to live Jamaican music, with reggae and dancehall powerhouse Capleton headlining alongside Nesbeth and acclaimed saxophonist Dean Fraser, while DJ Delano of Renaissance and legendary sound system Bass Odyssey add to the musical lineup.

Dream Entertainment’s Scott Dunn described the endorsement as a meeting of two entertainment brands working to strengthen Jamaica’s event landscape. “We are pleased to welcome Midas Entertainment’s events as endorsed lead-up experiences to Dream Weekend 2027,” Dunn said. “Sophisticated and ENCORE LIVE: Culture Rising each bring a strong and distinctive energy to the entertainment calendar, and we are all for it.”

Vanessa Bling enters the weekend following a headline-making stretch, having recently made a cameo during Masicka’s concert at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The dancehall artiste later sparked conversation by suggesting that an all-female dancehall lineup could fill the arena, and opening her own recording studio with an initiative offering female artistes free studio time.

Stefan Ebanks, Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships at Midas Entertainment, said the Dream Weekend endorsement represents an important step in the company’s continued growth as an event curator.

“This endorsement reflects our ongoing growth as event curators, and it underscores our commitment to building culturally relevant entertainment experiences,” Ebanks said. “It shows the value of creating events that connect audiences at home and abroad while contributing to Jamaica’s wider entertainment and tourism offering.”

Dunn added that the two events represent “distinct cultural expressions that are uniquely Jamaican” and will help strengthen the journey towards Dream Weekend 2027.
