Cristiano Ronaldo has put an end to speculation about his future, confirming he will remain at Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.

The Portuguese icon, visibly emotional after helping Portugal win the UEFA Nations League on Sunday, addressed his future in a post-match interview: “Future? Nothing will change. Al Nassr? Yes.”

Ronaldo, whose current contract expires on June 30, scored his 138th international goal in Portugal’s dramatic 5-3 penalty shootout win over Spain following a 2-2 draw in the final. The victory marked his third trophy with the national team.

Just two weeks earlier, Ronaldo had hinted at a possible exit after Al Nassr finished third in the league, posting cryptically on social media: “The chapter is over. The story? Is it still being written.”

Al Nassr sporting director Fernando Hierro had confirmed ongoing talks to extend Ronaldo’s stay amid reported interest from Club World Cup participants, including Argentina, Sergio Ramos’ Monterrey, Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami, and Saudi rivals Al Hilal.

“Winning for Portugal is always special,” Ronaldo said. “I’ve won many titles with clubs, but nothing compares to winning for Portugal. These are tears of joy. It’s duty done.”
