Jamaica will once again take center stage as the eco-adventure series The Visioneers with Zay Harding kicks off its Season 2 premiere on CBS. The episode airs Saturday, October 4, as part of the network’s “CBS WKND” educational block.
Hosted by international explorer and veteran adventure presenter Zay Harding, the series traveled to Jamaica over the summer to document the work of international nonprofit The Ocean Cleanup and its local partner Clean Harbours Jamaica Limited. Together, the two organizations are driving the Kingston Harbour Cleanup Project, an ambitious initiative aimed at reducing domestic waste entering Kingston Harbour, the seventh-largest natural harbour in the world.
In the episode, Harding speaks with Erik Holbom, Operations Manager at The Ocean Cleanup, and Michael McCarthy, Managing Director of Clean Harbours Jamaica Limited. They discuss their joint mission to eliminate plastic pollution from Kingston Harbour and introduce their innovative solution: a floating “interceptor” fence, installed at the mouth of drainage gullies where they meet the ocean.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our viewers to see how Jamaica, often regarded as one of the world’s most beautiful destinations, is not only a paradise known for reggae music, rich cuisine and world-class athletes, but also a nation committed to preserving and enhancing its natural allure,” Harding said. “In fact, we were so inspired by our Jamaican experience that the island will be featured again in another later episode of Season 2. It’s exactly the kind of story I envisioned the series would showcase when I created it.”
The Visioneers is a 30-minute weekly series that spotlights innovative initiatives from around the world. Each episode features scientists, engineers, and everyday people leading projects that deliver real-world environmental solutions. The series is produced by Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG) in an exclusive partnership with VoLo Foundation.
Harding, a Hawaii native who grew up on the islands of Kauai and Oahu, developed his love for the outdoors early on, a foundation that sparked his lifelong passion for exploration, storytelling, and environmental stewardship. Over his 25-year career, he has traveled to all seven continents and built an impressive résumé with credits across Discovery, History Channel, PBS, The Travel Channel, Outdoor Channel, Men’s Journal, Norwegian Cruise Line, and now CBS.
