The trend of musical biopics continues with this time Paramount Studios presenting the monumental life story of Reggae legend, Bob Marley. The movie, 'Bob Marley: One Love' is titled familiarly with one of his multiple iconic globally recognized songs.


The movie will celebrate the life of the revolutionary musician who inspired an entire generation through his message of love and unity. Along with his global rise to fame, Marley's powerful story is also one of adversity and overcoming difficulties on the way to becoming arguably the greatest songwriter ever.


The trailer begins at the peak of Marley's success, played by actor Kingsley Ben Adir (‘The Birmingham Gang’); showing a stadium full of fans waiting for him to take on the stage, shouting his name. ‘One Love’ takes us back to the beginning of his iconic journey in Jamaica.



The trailer combines all the stages of the singer's life; from his family life to the assassination attempt on his life. Throughout the rise of crime and violence, Marley stuck to his message for peace. Even after the attempt on his life, Marley decided to return to Jamaica to conduct a peace concert, at the risk of his life, with multiple rumors circulating of more threats towards him.


The cast is also joined by Lashana Lynch (‘No Time to Die’) who will play Marley's wife and James Norton (Jamaica's Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, also shared his high anticipation for the movie. "I'm Looking Forward to This", he shared on from his Twitter account.


The movie was produced in cooperation with the Marley's family; including his wife, Rita, his son, Ziggy, and his daughter, Cedela, who gave the film their blessing as well as the rights to Marley's greatest songs.‘Little Women’) who will play Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger. Michael Gandolfini (‘Newark Saints’), Anthony Walsh (‘Katrina’), Tosin Cole (‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’), and Nadine Marshall (‘Paddington 2’) will also star in the epic story.


The reggae singer, Naomi Cowan, who will portray the character of the Queen Of the Reggae, Marcia Griffiths, shared an excited post on her Instagram account. "Honored to be part of this moment in Jamaican history. Telling a legendary story while portraying The Queen of Reggae Music", she wrote. The singer Hector Roots Lewis will also be a part of the high-powered cast.



Jamaica's Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, also shared his highly anticipation for the movie release. "I'm Looking Forward to This", he shared on Twitter.


The movie was produced in cooperation with the Marley's family, including his wife Rita, his son Ziggy, and his daughter Cedela, who gave the film their blessing as well as the rights to Marley's greatest songs. The film will hit theaters in the US on January 12, 2024.
