January usually eases into the new year at a slow pace, with many artists still mapping out their moves. Skippa, however, has wasted no time - continuing to evolve as he pushes to cement his place among dancehall’s new-generation front leaders.
Riding the wave of his viral breakout “WYFL,” the deejay has charged into 2026 with undeniable buzz, topping charts and racking up millions of views. The single has now crossed 7.6 million views, becoming a must-play in parties, while follow-up “Reckless” made an immediate impact of its own, surging on the charts and surpassing 1 million views. Both tracks were produced by DJ Mac.
Meanwhile, Skippa is steadily expanding his international footprint. He recently performed in the U.S. for the first time in Brooklyn and has since added more American dates to his calendar, including an upcoming, larger show at the renowned Amazura, with additional dates across the States set to be announced, marking another key step in his overseas growth.
With his momentum showing no signs of slowing, Skippa kicks off 2026 as Kaboom Magazine’s first Artiste of the Month, setting the tone for what’s shaping up to be a breakout year.
