Dancehall’s impact on U.S. stages continues to expand, with concert promoter CJ Milan leading the charge. The New York-based promoter announces a massive stage show set for Labor Day Weekend, Saturday, August 30, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The event will bring together some of dancehall’s leading front-runners, including Shenseea and Alkaline, alongside veteran acts such as Elephant Man, Mr. Vegas, Capleton, the iconic band T.O.K., and deejay/selector Tony Matterhorn. However, that’s not all, as the headliner for Saturday night has not yet been revealed, with the event flyer teasing: “Headliner To Be Revealed At The Show.”
For “Signal Di Plane” singjay Elephant Man, this won't be his only collaboration with CJ Milan. He’s also set to bring his signature energy to the stage as the headliner for Reggae Fest at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on August 9.
Fresh off his guest appearance at Bounty Killer’s comeback concert at Barclays Center, the Energy God is ready to command the 3,000-capacity venue.
Most recently, Milan was the driving force behind Bounty Killer’s first full-scale band performance in a New York City arena, which was another sold-out show at Barclays Center, marking the legend’s return to the U.S. stage after 15 years.
CJ Milan, known for her Reggae Fest series, continues to shape the dancehall landscape in the U.S. She has played a pivotal role in historic moments, including Vybz Kartel’s highly anticipated return to U.S. stages, with two sold-out nights at Barclays Center, as well as the at theState Farm Arena in Atlanta. She is also set to stage another Kartel concert on July 26 at CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore.
While not yet confirmed, there is speculation that Vybz Kartel could headline his own show at Barclays Center once again on Friday, August 29.
