6-year-old Nahbi Reign, daughter of dancehall and reggae artist I-Octane and music video director Sasha “Bling Blang” Roache, has already achieved a remarkable milestone at a very young age, earning a production credit on a song that has secured nominations at the 2026 International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA).
Her work on the song “Opportunist” by I-Octane featuring Shane O has earned nominations for Best Song and Best Music Video, placing the young creative among the industry’s celebrated contributors, before even entering primary school.
“When she turned five, I gave her her own label. She loves music, so why not own her own music,” Sasha “Bling Blang” Roache told Kaboom Magazine.
According to Roache, Nahbi played a role during the song’s production process, offering her own input during the recording sessions.

“We don’t force her. She’s the focus, not us, despite us being involved in the industry and the environment surrounding her,” she explained.
Now, the young talent is even more eager to achieve more. “We missed out on the Grammy, but this is something for her to celebrate in the future,” Sasha added.
