Powered by Magnum Tonic Wine, the event celebrates 15 years, blending authentic river vibes with high-energy music. patrons can expect a laid-back daytime lime before the space transforms into a vibrant dancehall showcase, featuring Bass Odyssey and Echo One Sound.

Organizers say this staging raises the bar, with Skeng bringing his high-impact performance style to North Central Clarendon for the first time.

Promoter Shanique Lloyd added, “We’ve done it before, but this April we’re making sure they get a real dancehall treat with Skeng, the kind of performer they’ve been asking for. Skeng is the perfect fit for this staging, and we’re guaranteeing an all-round great experience.”

With VIP already sold out, anticipation is high for what promises to be one of the season’s standout events.

Jamaican-born artist Sahir Cashii continues to showcase his unique sound with a string of new releases.
On “Need You” he taps into a more sensual mood, pairing introspective themes with a slow and intimate guitar ballad. The multi-versatile singer, rapper, and producer made his return last year with Lethal Elegance, a 5-track EP blending Dancehall, Hip Hop, and Afropop, before following up with Regally Elegant.

Jamaica’s Jamaica national football team saw their hopes of a return to the FIFA World Cup come to an end after a 1-0 extra-time defeat, extending their 28-year drought since their only appearance at France 1998.

After a goalless 90 minutes, Axel Tuanzebe found the net from inside the box in the 100th minute to break Jamaican hearts and decide the contest.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo created the more threatening chances in the second half, but Jamaica, thanks in large part to goalkeeper Andre Blake held firm to keep the intercontinental playoff final scoreless through regulation before being undone in extra time.

DR Congo have now secured qualification for their first FIFA World Cup appearance since 1974, while Jamaica must wait at least another four years for another opportunity.

Japanese dancehall producer Gacha Medz continues to expand his footprint in the genre, contributing to Alkaline’s NPT album while reflecting on a journey that spans nearly two decades in Jamaica.

In an exclusive with Kaboom Magazine, he shared how the experience has shaped him both musically and personally. “Jamaica has truly taught me patience more than anything… being in Kingston keeps me constantly inspired - especially by the new wave of dancehall,” he said, adding that working with Alkaline stands out as a creative process where “he’s actively involved in shaping the direction of the song, almost like he’s co-producing in his own way.”

Throughout his journey, Gacha Medz has also learned from some of the genre’s leading figures, including Vybz Kartel, gaining insight beyond just music.

“A lot of the top producers have already established themselves not only as artists, but also as strong businessmen… it’s not just about making hits,” he noted.

Now positioned between both cultures, he continues to play a role in strengthening the link between Japan and Jamaica. “I feel like the connection between dancehall and Japan is moving beyond just music… I’ve been able to become a bridge between the Jamaican and Japanese music scenes.”

Reflecting on both his creative approach and the Rockers legacy, he added, "I’m mainly focused on building and maintaining my business at the moment, being located at 135 Orange Street, Rockers International Records, which was started by my dad around 1976, so we recently celebrated our 50th anniversary, which has taken most of my time and energy."

Six-year-old Nahbi Reign, daughter of dancehall and reggae artist I-Octane and music video director Sasha "Bling Blang" Roache, has enjoyed a major milestone at a young age, emerging as one of reggae’s youngest producers after earning a production credit on the single “Opportunist,” which has secured nominations at the International Reggae & World Music Awards.

The track, performed by I-Octane alongside Shane O, is nominated for Best Song and Best Music Video at the 2026 staging, placing the young creative among recognized contributors in the industry before even entering primary school.

“When she turned five, I gave her her own label. She loves music, so why not own her own music,” Sasha “Bling Blang” Roache shared proudly.

Jamaican reggae singer Naomi Cowan’s 12-track debut album Welcome to Paradise has won the 2026 JUNO Award for Reggae Recording of the Year.

The award was presented to Cowan on Saturday at the 50th staging of the ceremony.

“Man, I feel so proud to be a woman in reggae music. This award has been around since 1985, the Reggae Recording of the Year category, and I am the 10th woman out of the 40 times this award has been handed out to receive it. That is incredible," Cowan told Kaboom Magazine.

She continued, "More than anything, it reminds me to stay in my lane and remain true to my authenticity as an artist, because that’s clearly the way to go. I’ve stayed true to who I believe I am, and it’s proving to be the right thing to do.”

This marks the 10th time a female has won the Reggae Recording of the Year category.

“There were several schools in our journey, but what struck me about Lewisville High School was their music programme. Their music room, which was one of the biggest I’ve seen at a school, was completely destroyed in the passing of the hurricane,” Sean Paul said in the interview.

Led by head coach Rudolph Speid, the Reggae Boyz produced a disciplined 1-0 victory over New Caledonia in the inter-confederation playoff semifinal in Mexico, setting up a decisive final clash against the Democratic Republic of the Congo with a World Cup spot on the line.

Forward Bailey Cadamarteri struck in the 18th minute to give Jamaica the lead, with the team controlling the match and remaining solid defensively to secure the result.

With just one game remaining, Jamaica knows there is no room for mistakes when they face the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Tuesday.
